About UsThe UCL Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences (MAPS) is comprised of eight departments that are highly rated for research excellence: Chemistry; Physics & Astronomy; Space & Climate Physics; Mathematics; Science & Technology Studies; Earth Sciences; Risk and Disaster Reduction and Statistical Science. In addition, the faculty has its own interdepartmental undergraduate degree programme: Natural Sciences. UCL Mathematical and Physical Sciences employs over 1,400 members of staff, of whom approximately 80% are academic, teaching and research staff and 20% professional services. The faculty prides itself on providing a rich and culturally diverse environment for students and staff alike.About the roleThe purpose of this role is to provide Faculty level leadership and management of student casework, support, success and welfare related activity. Leading the faculty’s Student Support and Success team, they will oversee the coordination of student casework that requires faculty approval or intervention and support programmes and departments in MAPS dealing with individual casework, student support procedures and student welfare. The role will lead on Faculty-level student success initiatives, support inclusive, data-informed approaches to education in alignment with UCL’s Education Strategy and EDI objectives. They will work closely with the Vice-Dean (Education), Faculty Student Success Lead and other colleagues to embed equitable practices across the curriculum and co-curricular activities.
