Associate Professor (Teaching) in AI and Education Design in London

About the role: The UCL School of Management is recruiting a full-time Associate Professor (Teaching) in AI and Education Design to lead the integration of AI across its educational provision. The role focuses on developing a clear vision for how students gain the knowledge, skills, and critical awareness to use AI effectively, ethically, and in real-world organisational contexts.

The postholder will champion AI in teaching by designing initiatives, such as workshops and training for staff and students, and by driving curriculum innovation to embed AI capabilities across programmes, in line with industry expectations. They will also act as the School’s representative on AI in education, contributing to internal and external discussions and helping position the School as a leader in this area.

Key responsibilities include teaching, assessment, supervision, curriculum development, and leadership activities. The role requires a strong track record of educational leadership, engagement with research and practice, and experience working with academic and industry networks.

Salary – UCL Grade 9 68,284 to 74,166 pa (including London allowance). Competitive salary (includes Market Supplements on top of basic salary listed above).

About you: The successful candidate will hold a relevant PhD or Doctorate and demonstrate significant engagement with AI education policy and practice. They will have played a leading role in institutionally or nationally significant initiatives that have delivered meaningful educational impact, alongside a proven track record of successful collaboration with external partners on major education projects.

The candidate will bring substantial experience in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with the ability to relate theoretical concepts to business practice and to engage learners from diverse disciplinary and cultural backgrounds. They will be committed to teaching excellence, as evidenced by consistently strong student evaluations (at least 4 out of 5 or equivalent) and informed by reflective practice.

Excellent communication skills in English, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to build effective and collaborative relationships at all levels are essential. The role also requires strong organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise a varied and demanding workload.
