Overview
As Associate Director, Data & Digital, you will shape and deliver UCL Estates' data and digital strategy, leading a major transformation across a complex campus. You will champion Smart Campus initiatives, aligning IWMS, data environments, IoT and AI to improve asset care, performance and user experience. You’ll collaborate with Estates leadership and ISD to build a strategic roadmap, oversee digital programmes, and secure investment. You enable data-driven decisions through governance, quality and reporting, driving culture and adoption across the organisation.

Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of the Data & Digital Strategy for UCL Estates
- Oversee major digital programmes and act as Product Owner for key initiatives
- Build and lead a high-performing team and drive adoption of new systems
- Develop and secure investment via compelling business cases
- Own and evolve the Estates Data Strategy including governance, standardisation and reporting
- champion data literacy and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Ensure data quality, accessibility and alignment with university priorities and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with Estates leadership and Information Services Division to deliver a strategic digital roadmap
Key requirements
- Strategic digital and data leadership experience in large, complex organisations
- Proven track record delivering large-scale transformation programmes
- Experience bridging operational teams and digital delivery functions
- Experience with enterprise systems such as IWMS and Common Data Environments
- Strong stakeholder management and change leadership skills
- Ability to translate complex digital and data challenges into practical solutions
- Experience managing and developing teams in matrix organisations
- Business acumen with ability to develop and present business cases
- Degree or equivalent experience
