Our teams provide dedicated, specialist support throughout the research and innovation lifecycle to help sustain and advance UCL’s position as a world-class, research-led university.About the roleWithin ISD, this post is in the Chief Information Security Office (CISO) which leads on all aspects of security at UCL. CISO is divided into two teams covering Security Operations and Governance, Risk and Compliance.The is exciting new role with give you the opportunity to participate in the delivery of a comprehensive set of Information Security services to the UCL community You will be required to respond to a range of Information Security incidents and Information Security requests, whislt proactively promoting and achieving compliance with the agreed security posture in a pragmatic and solution orientated manner.Also key, is the protection of UCL's information assets through the use and supply of Incident response, policies and procedures, awareness and training, prevention and other best practice activities. Matters of confidentiality, integrity and availability is equally as important!About youAs the ideal candidate will have a nice mix of the following skills & experience:Experience operating as part of an IT Service providing IT incident and request services.Experience managing or providing IT training to customers in a class or one on one basis.Sound technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Networks and the TCP/IP protocol suite; Firewalls and other perimeter security technology; System Administration and Server Operating Systems (Unix and/or Windows); Desktop and client devices and Desktop operating systems.Knowledge or awareness of some the following information security technologies: encryption, The TCP-IP protocol, vulnerability and penetration testing, compliance checking, anti-virus software, personal client firewall, network firewall & other perimeter security and intrusion detection technologies.Programming or script writing experience.Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualifications.What we offerAs well as the exciting opportunities this role presents, we also offer some great benefits some of which are below:41 Days holiday (27 days annual leave 8 bank holiday and 6 closure days).
