As Director of Development (Health), you will lead fundraising across UCL’s four health-focused faculties to secure transformational gifts and advance research, education and innovation. You’ll shape ambitious fundraising strategies, build senior academic partnerships, and cultivate major gifts from individuals, trusts and foundations. You will oversee a high-performing team, manage a personal portfolio of high-value prospects, and foster a donor-centric culture aligned with UCL’s campaign objectives. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies across the four health faculties
- Build strategic partnerships with Deans and senior academic leaders
- Translate faculty priorities into compelling philanthropic opportunities
- Align faculty fundraising with institutional priorities and the campaign
- Identify opportunities for interdisciplinary health-related fundraising
- Manage a personal portfolio of major gifts (100k–5m)
- Develop and execute cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans
- Secure support from individuals, trusts, foundations and corporate partners
- Collaborate with Prospect Development, Campaign Proposition, Alumni Engagement and Donor Experience teams
- Represent UCL in meetings with donors and senior leaders
- Maintain accurate records and pipeline in Advancement CRM systems
- Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team
- Set objectives, monitor performance and foster a collaborative culture
- Support campaign planning and delivery across health faculties
- Build cross-functional relationships across Professional Services
- Champion exceptional donor stewardship
