The Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (RLHIM) invites applications for this outpatient Specialty Doctor post (4 PAs whole time equivalent) in its Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and Fibromyalgia service. We welcome applications from medically qualified healthcare professionals with a holistic approach and experience in managing complex, chronic conditions characterised by chronic fatigue and/or chronic pain.

Main duties of the job:

  • The post-holder will provide outpatient services (face-to-face and remote) in the ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia service.
  • This service provides multidisciplinary treatment pathways for adult patients with these complex, chronic medical conditions and is one of the largest such services in London and the South-East.
  • The service incorporates physician care (a Specialist Physician and Specialty Doctors), occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Autogenic Training), dietetics and acupuncture.
  • Applicants will be expected to possess substantial experience in the management of chronic illnesses, including an understanding of psychosocial aspects, comfortable working with multi-morbidity and polypharmacy, high-level clinical skills, person-centred approach to care, and willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team.
