An exciting opportunity has arisen for a mental health clinician with specialist training and experience, particularly with an interest in trauma and multi-agency working, to join the CAMHS Team at The Lighthouse. The Lighthouse is the first UK Child House, a multi-professional, child-centred, and trauma-informed service for CYP who have experienced child sexual abuse, and it is a national leader in the field. The post is open to qualified and professionally registered clinicians from various backgrounds, including (but not limited to) Clinical Psychology, Child Psychotherapy, Family Therapy, Nursing, and Occupational Therapy. The post holder will receive support during induction and professional development, including regular clinical supervision and reflective group practice. There will be opportunities for professional links with the UCLH Department of Child and Adolescent Psychological Medicine, local CAMHS teams, and engagement with the PROMISE network of Barnahus services for national and international collaboration.
Main duties of the job
The role involves delivering community-based multi-disciplinary assessments, individual and group therapeutic interventions for children and carers, supervision, management, and professional network engagement through training and consultations. The post holder should be a team player, capable of leading in clinical practice and development, working independently, managing a caseload, and ensuring safe and effective clinical practices. Responsibilities include providing community-based care via assessments, therapeutic interventions, parent work, and group interventions. The post-holder will also lead on service development initiatives such as group programs, training, and multi-disciplinary consultations, and contribute to audits, policy, service development, and research, especially supporting children who have experienced sexual abuse. Clinical supervision and line management of trainees and staff will also be part of the role.
