This post is based at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), which along with the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (RLHIM), forms the largest division within the Specialist Hospitals Board: the Queen Square Division.

The NHNN is renowned internationally for clinical practice and world-class research in neurosciences. It is closely associated with the Institute of Neurology (ION). Together, NHNN and ION are considered the premier neurosciences centre in the UK. The hospital offers services in Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuro-rehabilitation, Neuro-critical Care, and Neuro-Psychiatry, receiving referrals from across the UK and internationally. Recent developments include an Interventional MRI suite.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Patient Booking Team for a Band 4 Patient Booking Coordinator. The main responsibilities include managing new patient referrals from receipt to the first outpatient appointment, ensuring all Trust targets are met. The role also involves supporting other contact centre activities such as follow-up calls, managing e-referrals, departmental inboxes, and clinic amendments.

The Patient Booking Team handles all new patient referrals received by post, fax, internally, or through Choose & Book at NHNN and RLHIM. The team ensures that all outpatient targets, including the 18-week RTT target, are achieved.
