An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Consultant Obstetric Physician to join the North Central London (NCL) multi-disciplinary Maternal Medicine Team on a maternity leave cover basis. The successful post holder will be based at one of the maternity hospitals within the NCL Maternal Medicine Network: Barnet Hospital. CV required for the application.

Main duties of the job:

  • Provide specialist care for pregnant women with complex medical conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings at Barnet General Hospital.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary antenatal and postnatal clinics, acute consults for pregnant/recently pregnant women with medical problems, and management of maternal medicine inpatients.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the NCL network, liaising and coordinating patient care, attending and contributing to NCL multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, and supporting the ongoing development of the Maternal Medicine Network.
  • Coordinate advice, education, and support for physicians, obstetricians, general practitioners, and other healthcare professionals across the network.
