A rare opportunity has arisen within the Operating Department at UCH at Westmoreland Street, for an experienced nurse/ODP to be part of our Theatre Leadership Team. The post is part time, at hours per week, working as part of the Band 7 Lead Practitioner team, for a fixed term to cover a career break. This is an excellent development opportunity to gain experience at band 7.

At Westmoreland Street we have 7 operating theatres, and cater for urology and thoracic surgery. We are also expanding our robotic surgery facility.

The purpose of the role focuses on providing leadership to our operating practitioner staff at Westmorland Street, and monitoring and maintaining the high standards of practice expected within the department. You will be part of a team of Band 7 Lead Practitioners representing the specialties within the department.

Main duties of the job

You will have a passion for excellence, and a proven track record in change management, and the delivery of high-quality team performance in operating theatre practice. You will also demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Candidates should be confident and competent management and clinical skills, and have a good understanding of IT applications.
