The UCLH EHR team is working in partnership with UCLH Pharmacy, Epic, other Epic trusts and NHSE to deliver a solution to connect Epic to the national Electronic Prescription Service. The UCLH pilot is scheduled for the end of 26/early 27. UCLH is developing the solution on behalf of Epic trusts across England – other trusts will act as “fast-followers” supported by Epic and the UCLH team.
The UCLH EHR Brillow team seeks to recruit a band 8b EHR Deputy Delivery Manager to oversee the planning, testing and delivery of the EPS solution and manage the project. The position is being advertised internally only and is suitable only for EHR analysts who are Willow Inpatient or Ambulatory certified. The role presents an excellent opportunity for an existing UCLH Brillow team analyst to gain valuable project management skills in a nationally important workstream. You will be fully supported by EHR and Pharmacy leadership teams throughout the project.
Main duties of the job:
- Build and test the solution according to the specification agreed with Epic and NHSE, providing feedback during the remediation period.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve technical issues that result in front end Epic changes, or changes to operational workflows related to prescribing and dispensing.
- Work intensively with the EPS Operational Pharmacist to ensure the solution meets the needs of UCLH prescribers and Pharmacy.
- Co-plan, project manage and deliver each workstream in collaboration with the Epic EPS team.
- Work with Epic colleagues to deliver key messages to the wider Epic-EPS secondary care community throughout the project.
- Contribute to the development of a “blueprint” which other Epic trusts can use to guide their own EPS implementations.
- Deliver key messages to the Epic SRO community.
- Recruit then work with the EPS training and adoption analyst to develop training materials.
- Act as a liaison between the EHR team and wider operational teams including the Workforce Systems and Digital Security Team.
- Plan and deliver the pilot and subsequent trustwide rollout of EPS.
- Act as a champion for EPS in secondary care, representing the Epic community at national level.
- Work with community pharmacy partners to ensure Epic-produced prescriptions can be dispensed in primary care.
