University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH), a complex UK NHS trust, is seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Administration Team Leader to join the Haematology team. This role involves providing supervision and leadership to a small outpatient administration team, with line management responsibility, to ensure a high-quality, effective, and efficient service focused on positive patient experience.

The post holder will offer expert administrative support to multidisciplinary clinical teams, guiding them through complex pathways and monitoring waiting lists and service capacity to meet targets. Contributions to service improvement initiatives and the strategic direction of the administration service are key. Essential duties also include managing complex booking issues, ensuring accurate data capture, and overseeing team development and rota management.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, driven, and highly motivated, demonstrating strong engagement and support for colleagues.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Leading and supervising a specialty administration team, ensuring a high-quality, efficient patient administrative service that supports clinical pathways and excellent patient experience.
  • Overseeing waiting lists and RTT performance, coordinating appointments and referrals, resolving complex queries and complaints, and acting as the point of contact between patients, clinicians, and managers.
  • Managing staff, training, performance, data quality and reporting, and contributing to service improvement, capacity management, and change initiatives across the specialty.
