Rheumatology Research Coordinator – NHS Band 5/6 Department / Division The UCLH Research Directorate is made up of the Joint Research Office, the NIHR UCLH Biomedical Research Centre and NIHR Clinical Research Facility UCLH. This role is embedded in the Medical Specialities Rheumatology department across adult and adolescent rheumatology services. It will involve close working with colleagues at University College London and the Centre for Centre for Adolescent Rheumatology. Job Purpose The Clinical Research Coordinator is practitioner working within the Rheumatology Research Team. They will work as part of a team to coordinate and recruit to research studies within the department, working within ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) coordination of clinical research studies. The post holder will be expected to manage the coordination of research projects and to develop skills and knowledge relating to the conduct of clinical trials, the therapies and relevant disease types. Main Duties and Responsibilities * Maintain health, safety and security of self and others in own work area through ensuring own and others’ knowledge of relevant local / national policies and procedures, and that these are adhered to. * Coordinate the set up and day to day conduct of a portfolio of clinical trials/studies from set-up to close down in accordance with ICH GCP, NHS Research Governance and, for Clinical Trials of Investigational Medicinal Products (CTIMPs), the EU Directive on clinical trials. * Facilitate recruitment of patients into studies. * Data Entry of the documentation from clinic and resolve any data queries. * Ensure costings of new studies are undertaken, liaising across departments to accurately complete the NIHR industry costing template under supervision. Receive and check invoices and deal with any queries relating to them. * Liaise with Finance team to raise invoices for both commercial and non-commercial studies and ensuring income and expenditure is checked tracked and paid into relevant accounts. * Process amendments to essential clinical research documentation. * Promote peoples’ equity, diversity and rights, through ensuring that own and others’ practice is in the best interests of patients. * Develop own knowledge and expertise within the speciality / research field. Assist the Senior Research Coordinator with the development of study projects including the review of study documentation and regulatory paperwork ensuring compliance with relevant CCRC SOPs, legislative requirements and GCP guidelines
