University College London Hospitals undertakes world-class research across many specialities including cancer, neurology, stroke, rheumatology, and early phase medicine. In this role, you will be a key part of facilitating this research. You will be an integral part of a team of clinical trial senior pharmacists who provide high-quality dispensary and production services, thereby giving patients access to groundbreaking treatments via study protocols. The postholder will demonstrate leadership, oversight, finance, risk assessment, audit, and inspection skills. A GPhC-registered pharmacist with at least 2 years\’ post-registration experience in an NHS hospital healthcare setting would be well suited. The post holder will be well supported by the Highly Specialist and Principal Research Pharmacists. Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work as part of the UCLH clinical trials team to provide pharmacy input and management of clinical trials across all sites in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and other relevant guidelines.

  1. Plan and participate in risk assessments of clinical trials concerning systems, patients, and staff at UCLH.
  2. Participate in clinical trial feasibility assessment meetings to provide feedback on safety, capacity, and capability of our services.
  3. Support the day-to-day operational and dispensary functions of the pharmacy clinical trials team.
  4. Support mentoring and development of the clinical trial technical team.
  5. Monitor the progress of clinical trials in setup or undergoing amendments, supporting or escalating as needed to meet timelines.
  6. Provide advice to the wider research community and escalate to senior pharmacists when appropriate.
  7. Participate in the management and development of the pharmacy clinical trial service at UCLH.
