A Vacancy at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Are you an Emergency Medicine clinician looking for the next step? Would you like to work for one of the largest and most well‑recognised trusts in the UK as part of a friendly, dynamic and forward‑thinking team? We seek to train future leaders in Emergency Medicine by inviting ED clinicians (ST4+ or equivalent) to join our department. We are offering a fixed‑term appointment, initially for 12 months but with potential to extend. Registrars’ Working Pattern and Support

Our registrar rota is annualised and self‑rostered, allowing you to select a working pattern that suits you. You will have eight hours per week of educational development time, which can be used for teaching, audit, research, quality improvement work, exam revision, personal study, or any other approved activity agreed with your consultant supervisor. We also offer support for progression to CESR, with several of our senior fellows currently working towards this under the supervision of a consultant CESR lead.

Qualifications

The post is suitable for experienced doctors in Emergency Medicine at the level of an ST4+ or equivalent. Candidates without formal membership or entrance examinations will be considered if they possess longitudinal experience or equivalent qualifications.

Responsibilities

You will be a valued member of our registrar tier and join our team of established specialty doctors, senior fellows, and training registrars from the north‑central east London (NCEL) rotation. Work on the registrar rota, including responsibility for overall departmental management at night. Comply with a consultant on‑call from home between midnight and 8am. Be able to work independently in all areas of the ED, including the resuscitation room, majors, urgent treatment centre, and paediatrics. Review patients seen by our junior medical team and complement consultant‑delivered care.
