Overview
A vacancy at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH). This is a full-time Junior Doctor ST1/2 position (equivalent to CT1/2) in Head and Neck Surgical specialties. The post is expected to start April 2026 on a 16-month contract with a possibility of extension.
About the role
Based in the West End of London, the post holder will provide care for Head and Neck, Maxillofacial and ENT patients. The rota offers significant Head and Neck Cancer experience, including reconstructive free flap surgery (around eight major cases per month), facial trauma and aesthetic facial surgery. The role includes participation in extensive teaching, research, audit and service improvement within UCLH collaboration projects tailored to development requirements and service needs.
Responsibilities
Provide clinical care for Head and Neck, Maxillofacial and ENT patients.
Gain experience in Head and Neck Cancer, including reconstructive free flap surgery, facial trauma and aesthetic procedures.
Engage in teaching, research, audit and service improvement activities within UCLH projects.
Participate in the on-call rota (full shift system) covering Maxillofacial and ENT admissions.
Requirements and expectations
Medical qualification and eligibility to train at Junior Trust doctor level (equivalent to CT1/2).
Interest in pursuing a career in Head & Neck Surgery.
