We are inviting applications for a Specialty Doctor in Prosthodontics to join our dynamic team within the Division of Restorative Dentistry, starting at the earliest opportunity. This fixed‑term post is for 12 months and will primarily support patient care through treatment and consultation clinics. The post is based at the Royal National ENT & Eastman Dental Hospitals, part of the Specialist Hospitals Board of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Successful applicants will join a well‑established team in delivering a wide range of complex Prosthodontic and Restorative procedures, including surgical components. They must be experienced in managing patients who benefit from a multidisciplinary approach, such as head and neck cancer, hypodontia and dental trauma. Applicants should have excellent communication skills, further postgraduate experience in this field, and evidence of teamwork and leadership. Candidates should ideally be on or eligible for the Specialist Register in Restorative Dentistry/Prosthodontics or, at minimum, have demonstrated further postgraduate training in this discipline.

Direct Clinical Care Activities
  • Provide care for patients requiring complex restorative/prosthodontic rehabilitation and multidisciplinary care.
  • Support the Clinical Lead and the rest of the team to ensure that departmental service and quality standards and targets are fulfilled.
  • Participate in the training activities of the Department and potentially supervise the clinical work of trainees.
  • Assist with the development of the clinical service in the Department and help to foster good relationships between the Department and other practitioners.
Other Programmed Activities
  • Undertake administrative duties in the Department and Division as required by the Clinical Lead.
  • Ensure that patient management issues relating to clinical effectiveness are in place.
  • Take an active part in the audit activities of the Department.
  • Work effectively as part of a Department with both an NHS and an academic component, and foster effective collaboration with all hospital and academic staff in the Department, Division, Hospital and institution at large.
  • Assist and participate in the continuing professional development activities of the Department.
  • Undertake mandatory training and continuing professional development as required by the Trust.
  • Attend and assist the delivery of local and divisional governance meetings and comply with and promote all clinical governance protocols and standards.
