Role Overview

We are seeking one experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses to lead a team of Mental Health Nurses and Mental Health Care Assistants to deliver excellent mental health nursing care to our patients. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the team as they carry out the core functions of assessment and care planning of patients who require intensive one-to-one nursing support that have been admitted to UCLH.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work alongside the Matron for Enhanced Therapeutic Observations and Care (ETOC) to lead and support a team of Mental Health Nurses, providing clinical support and supervision to Band 6 Mental Health Nurses and Mental Health Care Assistants.
  • Provide mental health nursing support to patients who have been admitted to hospital wards and require close and supportive observations.
  • Teach, educate, and support the nursing and medical teams in the hospital.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Work on a shift basis (daytimes only), allocating resources and ensuring oversight and support of all patients requiring enhanced observations.
