A Vacancy at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This RCOG-accredited subspecialty training programme represents an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious candidate to join the Gynaecological Oncology department at UCLH, a premier tertiary referral centre. This is a training post, and the priority will be to develop the surgical and clinical skills required for successful completion of the RCOG subspecialty training programme.
Responsibilities:
- Attend and prepare for theatre lists (average 5 three‑session theatre lists per week).
- Manage outpatient work.
- Lead ward rounds.
- Prepare for the MDT meeting.
- Liaise across specialties and with the regional network.
- Organise the junior team rota.
- Lead service improvement, audit and research work, and risk management activities.
- Supplement learning by working with allied specialties.
Qualifications:
- Significant experience working in a gynaecological oncology department.
- Strong knowledge of treatment pathways and evidence‑based cancer management.
- High level of leadership, management and organisational skills.
- High level of surgical experience (both open surgery and minimal access) to progress at the expected standard.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients.
