An opportunity to join the UCLH Electronic Health Record (EHR) management team has arisen within the Pharmacy, Cancer Chemotherapy, and Clinical Trial team. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual with a keen interest and ideally experience in digital healthcare. The successful candidate will be required to focus on building and maintaining medications as well as help support UCLH's wider digital infrastructure.

Main duties of the job include:

  • Overseeing and being responsible for the design, configuration, build, and testing of application modules related to pharmacy, chemotherapy workflows, and clinical trial management.
  • Working in conjunction with the EHR delivery managers to ensure close integration of application teams.
  • Engaging regularly with clinicians and operational managers to analyse service needs and help deliver clinical best practice standards.
  • Scoping and prioritising new projects in line with Trust strategic objectives.
  • Developing and supporting analysts, and collaborating closely with training, technical, information, programme management, benefits, and communications staff.

Person specification includes:

  • Essential criteria: Pharmacy, nursing or other health-related degree or equivalent through experience and professional development; specialist knowledge across a wide range of subject areas relating to EHR systems and digital services; good knowledge and understanding of NHS clinical, administrative and operational workflows; Epic certification in the Willow Inpatient module.
  • Desirable criteria: Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or General Pharmacy Practice; Epic certification in the Beacon or Research modules; Epic certification in the Willow Ambulatory or Willow Inventory modules.

Experience required includes:

  • Essential criteria: Substantial experience as a hospital practitioner; relevant project management or improvement experience with a track record of delivery.
  • Desirable criteria: Experience configuring an electronic prescribing and medicines administration (EPMA) system; experience working in the field of oncology/haematology pharmacy; experience building and maintaining chemotherapy protocols, including research protocols.

Skills and abilities include:

  • The ability to work unsupervised and plan project work to agreed timescales to meet deadlines.
