We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Clinical Oncologist with a focus on Lung and Skin cancers to join our world-class team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH). This is a permanent, full-time position for a Consultant Clinical Oncologist who will work as part of the multidisciplinary team, providing expert treatment for lung and skin cancer patients. The role will include delivering outpatient clinics, providing treatment advice, and managing the integration of cutting-edge treatment options, including systemic therapies and radiotherapy.

Main duties of the job

  1. Lead and manage outpatient clinics for Lung and Skin cancer patients.
  2. Develop and deliver radiotherapy and systemic therapy plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  3. Provide leadership and clinical support in Lung and Skin cancer multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
  4. Liaise with diagnostic services and pathologists to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment planning for patients.
  5. Participate in research and clinical trials to drive innovation and improve treatment options for lung and skin cancer patients.
  6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advances in oncology, particularly in the context of Lung and Skin cancers.
  7. Engage in the development of personalized treatment plans for patients based on the latest clinical and genomic evidence.

Professional Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • MB,BS or equivalent Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice and revalidated as appropriate.
  • On GMC Specialist Register for Oncology or within six months of attaining CCT.
  • MRCP or equivalent NB: Non UK trained doctors must be on the GMC register and Specialist Register in Clinical Oncology by date of interview
  • MRCP and FRCR

Desirable criteria

  • Higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent)

Clinical Skills

Essential criteria

  • Management of all aspects of care of patients undergoing palliative chemotherapy

Desirable criteria

  • Undertaken advanced communications skills course

Audit Management & IT

Essential criteria

  • Evidence of management/leadership roles
  • Understand the requirements of governance and clinical audit
  • Experience in organising clinical audit
  • Evidence of participation in quality improvement project within oncology
  • Evidence of management training
  • Evidence of ability to take responsibility
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload and manage time effectively and efficiently
