The Surgical Specialties Division at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) is seeking a driven and dynamic Thoracic Clinical Fellow (SpR level) to join the Thoracic Surgery department. This is a 1‑year fixed‑term position covering maternity leave, commencing June 2026.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care for thoracic patients in the UCLH Westmoreland Street Hospital service.
- Attend and participate in thoracic outpatient and follow‑up clinics, with flexibility to cover additional clinic sessions in the rota.
- Maintain accurate patient notes, write discharge letters and summaries, and ensure all documentation meets department standards.
- Engage in departmental activities, including presenting at meetings and supervising SHOs in preparation for their presentations.
- Contribute to the multidisciplinary team discussions on lung cancer management and other thoracic MDTs across the network.
- Assist in the VATS lobectomy programme, robotic surgical list and tracheal resection service as required.
Qualifications
- SpR level Thoracic Clinical Fellow with a completed or ongoing training programme in thoracic surgery.
