We provide highly specialised care for a wide variety of patient groups within haematology and oncology, between 8 am and 8 pm Monday to Saturday. Staff in this friendly and supportive team develop a range of advanced skills and knowledge by rotating between the four main areas of Daycare, Supportive Care, Apheresis, Chemotherapy and Ambulatory care. We are looking to appoint a Charge Nurse/Ward Sister to work full time in our chemotherapy unit that provides holistic care for haematology/oncology patients receiving SACT.
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside another chemotherapy Sister/Charge Nurse.
- Manage daily operations and service development within the chemotherapy unit.
- Individually manage a core group of nurses and oversee the leadership of all staff in the unit.
- Maintain a high level of clinical competency in the area.
- Demonstrate excellent clinical leadership and communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Over four years of experience in cancer care.
- Cancer nursing qualification.
- Completed or currently studying towards a nursing masters degree – minimum 45 credits at Level 3 or equivalent (30 credits in haematology / cancer nursing education).
- Advanced skills in IV therapy, chemotherapy, cannulation and venepuncture (including blood products).
