About the Role
Reporting to the FE Deputy Principal, the Assistant Principal (STEM) will provide strategic leadership for STEM curriculum provision across the FE College and hold responsibility for the delivery and performance of GCSE Maths and English across FE programmes. This role will lead Heads of Department and work closely with quality and student experience teams to ensure strong teaching, clear progression pathways and inclusive learner support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic development of the FE STEM curriculum
- Oversee the cross-college delivery of GCSE Maths and English
- Drive improvements in teaching, learning and assessment
- Monitor performance metrics and lead quality improvement initiatives
- Line manage Heads of Department and support leadership development
- Develop employer partnerships and enrichment opportunities for STEM students
About You:
You will be an experienced FE curriculum leader with a strong background in STEM education. You will bring:
- Leadership experience within STEM curriculum areas
- Expertise in improving teaching, learning and assessment
- Strong data analysis and performance management skills
- Experience supporting vulnerable learners and inclusive practice
- A commitment to delivering excellent outcomes for students
