Lecturer – Bridge to Engagement
Location: Downham Market
Hours: 7.5 – 37 hrs per week (part‑time or full‑time)
Salary: £31,904 – £40,223 per annum pro rata (dependent on experience and level 5 teaching qualification)
Employment type: Permanent / Part Time (internal candidates only)
Role Summary
With increasing student numbers and investment into inclusive learning, we seek a Lecturer to support Bridge to Engagement learners at our Downham Market site. The role involves delivering tailored lessons to small groups, managing challenging behaviour, and enabling students to progress to further study or employment.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver curriculum for Bridge to Engagement learners
- Maintain small classroom sizes and provide a highly supportive learning environment
- Support students with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) issues
- Collaborate with the curriculum team to provide tools, knowledge and confidence to learners
- Record and report student progress in line with college policy
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities
Qualifications & Experience
- Level 5 teaching qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience managing challenging behaviour in an educational setting
- Commitment to inclusive and flexible learning environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
