Job Title: ALS Teacher

Overview

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a current CWA staff member to join our Additional Learning Support Teaching (ALS) team. This role focuses on supporting students who require additional tuition in English or maths, as well as helping them develop key skills such as time management and academic writing. The successful candidate will plan and deliver personalised learning sessions tailored to each student’s individual needs, working closely with learners to identify gaps in their understanding, build confidence, and support their progress through targeted, engaging activities.

The role involves working with small groups of students, delivering sessions in maths, English, academic writing, planning, or time management, helping them develop the skills and self‑belief needed to succeed in Further Education. It also requires managing your own timetable and ensuring that support sessions are arranged around students’ existing commitments.

15 per week (working days to be agreed)

Salary

£12,934 – £16,310 per annum (£31,904 – £40,233 FTE)

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver personalised learning sessions tailored to individual student needs.
  • Work closely with learners to identify gaps in understanding and build their confidence.
  • Deliver small‑group sessions in maths, English, academic writing, planning, and time management.
  • Manage your own timetable to ensure support sessions are arranged around students’ existing commitments.
