This is an exciting opportunity to join University Centre Somerset College Group (UCS College Group), a group created from the merger of Bridgwater and Taunton College (BTC) and Strode College. The College Group has a turnover of approximately £85 million and aims to be one of the most exceptional performing College Groups in the country.
Taunton College is part of UCS College Group and delivers a wide range of curriculum provision including 16-18, adult education, apprenticeships and Higher Education from Entry-Level through to Level 6. It also supports a school link programme with local schools. Taunton College has seen significant growth and improvement in outcomes over the last three years and will specialise in technical and professional qualifications, playing a critical role in enabling students to progress into these programmes.
Within the group, Taunton College has the largest number of T-Level students in areas including Health, Early Years, Design, Surveying & planning, Media and Accountancy. Taunton College is also the central hub for University Centre Somerset and the post holder will work alongside the Group Executive Principal and the Dean for Higher Education to support student growth and help UCS achieve Degree Awarding Powers.
Taunton College is the home of the award-winning Queen Anniversary Prize Nursing provision, and the college became the first FE provider to be approved by the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) to deliver nursing degrees.
