Job Coach – Foundation Learning (Full Time, Term Time Only)

Location: Taunton College, University Centre Somerset College Group

Salary: £21,798 per annum (actual, term time only) – equivalent to £26,101 per annum FTE, plus 20.3% employer pension.

The Foundation Learning Department supports learners with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), barriers to learning and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties (SEMH). The provision is based across the College group and offers high‑quality tailored programmes designed to meet the individual needs of learners.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Job Coach to co‑ordinate and support work experience, supported internships and other supported employment activities within the department. The role will include establishing and maintaining close working relationships with external agencies and employers, providing on‑ and off‑the‑job training and working with tutors to place, train and monitor students through successful placements that lead to enhanced employment opportunities. In addition you will arrange and promote work readiness activities, guest speakers and employer visits.

The successful candidate will be passionate about the supported employment agenda and an advocate for the benefits of employing people with SEND/SEMH to employers and the wider community. You will be organised, prioritise effectively, be flexible with your time management and possess excellent communication skills, whilst ensuring all administration—including health and safety checks—is completed.
