We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, and highly motivated individual to join our health professions team in Taunton to participate in the delivery and continuous development of our new Occupational Therapy curriculum. Working in line with professional statutory and regulatory body requirements, the post-holder will lead the BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy programme and Occupational Therapy Degree Apprenticeship at the University Centre Somerset (UCS). The post-holder will work with an expanding team of educators in supporting learners to qualify as outstanding practitioners, underpinning future health and care services that serve our communities.
UCS is working in partnership with employer partners to deliver education aimed at future proofing the evolving health and care system in the South West. Programmes are quality assured by the University of the West of England (UWE), with all teaching, learning and assessment delivered at University Centre Somerset in Taunton.
Responsibilities will focus on programme planning and quality assurance, teaching, learning and assessment, and supporting learners to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours throughout their time on programme. The role is student facing and employer facing, and requires the post-holder to act as an ambassador for excellence in clinical education in line with regulatory requirements.
Additional information: whilst the role is based at the University Centre Somerset in Taunton, during the first 6-months of employment the post-holder will spend a significant amount of time based at UWE Glenside (Bristol), working alongside the UWE Professional Lead and Programme Lead for Occupational Therapy as an extended programme induction.
