This role is an essential part of the University Centre Somerset College Group Leadership Team. The new College Group brought together two high performing colleges on 1 August 2025 to build an exciting future and deliver positive transformation for our students and community. The Group’s vision is “transforming lives and communities through learning and partnerships”. This is underpinned by a high-quality, student-centred culture and set of values.
The merger and establishment of the new College Group enables us to work together to unlock the full potential of both colleges, further enhance the delivery of an inspirational student experience, and build broader benefits for the communities we serve. Delivering an outstanding student experience and high-quality outcomes and destinations for all students gives strong confidence the Group will deliver the capacity to achieve an outstanding Ofsted grade in future inspections. This includes a strong outcome for skills and continued strengths in working with employers and stakeholders.
The role will be responsible for leading over 160 staff with a company turnover of approximately £10m.
Job PurposeAs a senior leader, the Group Director of UCS CSL will provide strategic leadership for the Group’s subsidiary company, UCS Corporate Services Limited, in the areas including facilities management, health safety, capital projects and catering. The role leads the development and implementation of estate and CSL strategies, ensuring they align with the Group’s strategic plans. You will have full responsibility for ensuring the management of the Group’s estate and facilities management ensuring they are conducive to learning, teaching and working. Additionally, you will enhance the overall operational efficiency and strategic goals of the Group through robust and innovative solutions.
