The technician role sits within the HE Media Makeup team in the Creative Arts department, providing specialist support to students as they develop makeup looks across a range of contexts. The role involves demonstrating techniques, supporting creative processes, and contributing to both independent and group-based student learning. The role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to meet tight deadlines, and collaboration within a team environment. It also plays an important part in upholding values around equality, diversity, safeguarding, the PREVENT agenda, and professional standards.
Please note: The salary stated is the full-time equivalent and will be adjusted pro rata for part-time working hours.
What You Will Do
As part of the HE Media Makeup team you will support students to create makeup looks in a range contexts including fashion and editorial hair and makeup, creating postiche, wig styling and special FX and prosthetic makeup.
You will lead on technical aspects of public exhibition work and promotional activity. You will support the department in duties such as stocktaking, sourcing and ordering kits and materials, daily running of the studios, storage of products, monitoring health and safety requirements, organising external visitors and online store requests for trips and photoshoots.
