The opportunity
Are you passionate about ensuring immigration compliance? Join our dynamic team at the University Academic Registry as an Immigration Compliance Manager and play a pivotal role in providing operational leadership for the oversight, development, implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures and practices to ensure the University\’s compliance with the Home Office\’s immigration requirements for students subject to immigration control.
The Immigration Compliance Manager will be instrumental in leading a team of three direct reports and shall also foster a supportive environment for our international student community. You will be the lead adviser and point of contact for programme administration and academic staff as well as university senior management, on all aspects of immigration compliance.
The post holder will lead on the continual evaluation and improvement of university processes in this area. The role also includes acting as the main contact with UKVI, reporting changes in circumstances as necessary and preparing for and managing all internal and external audits.
About you
The post holder will possess strong leadership skills to lead all aspects of Home Office (UKVI) compliance relating to students to ensure retention of the University\’s Sponsor licence and to drive full implementation of agreed procedures in place across all Colleges and Institutes. Knowledge of the Student Route policy is essential as is experience of monitoring compliance.
You will have strong organisational skills allowing you to plan, prioritise and manage resources effectively to achieve long term objectives. You will also have a proactive and innovative approach to problem solving and finding solutions to improve processes.
Collaborating with central services, colleges, and institutes while effectively communicating and providing support and comprehensive guidance to both administration and academic staff on immigration compliance will be vital.
