Overlooking Parker’s Piece, the Hotel’s quintessentially British Restaurant and Bar, Parker’s Tavern, Library Lounge and beautiful wood‑panelled Ballroom create an inviting atmosphere. Opened in 1834 as a Coaching Inn, University Arms is Cambridge’s oldest Hotel. It is now Cambridge's go‑to destination, alluring visitors with the promise of a sense of modern luxury.
What Will You Be Doing
- Prepare event spaces, including table setup, décor, and equipment in line with event standards.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently and with a high level of hospitality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout the event.
- Assist with event set‑up and breakdown, including resetting rooms for the next function.
- Ensure all guests feel welcomed, valued, and well looked after.
- Adhere to health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
- This is a very hands‑on role, out on the floor, enhancing our guest's experience, including a certain aspect of physical moving and lifting to set up the rooms.
- Flexibility and multi‑skilling may be required to meet the needs of our guests.
What Are We Looking For In You
- A friendly, positive, and professional attitude.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on event schedules.
- Previous experience in events, hospitality, or F&B service is desirable but not essential – training will be provided.
