Football & Futsal Development Officer in Manchester

We're looking for a Football & Futsal Development Officer to help us take that experience further. For us, football and futsal aren't only about competition. They can create belonging, bring people together and give students opportunities to lead, coach, officiate, volunteer and build experience that stays with them beyond UA92.

The role involves:

• Leading the development, promotion and day-to-day delivery of football and futsal across UA92.
• Creating opportunities for students to get involved at every level from those who simply want to play and meet people, through to our competitive BUCS teams and talented student athletes.
• Developing student leaders and creating routes into coaching, officiating and volunteering.
• Building relationships in the football community, including developing partnerships with Manchester United and Salford City FC, as well as creating links with local clubs, academies, schools and community organisations.
• Growing women's football and futsal, developing community programmes, overseeing coaching provision and ensuring teams are ready for training, fixtures and competition.

What you'll bring:

• Knowledge of football and futsal, and an understanding of the difference sport can make to the student experience.
• Experience of working in sports administration, ideally within football, alongside experience of coaching football and/or futsal.
• Comfort in building relationships with students, colleagues and external partners.
• A UEFA C or equivalent coaching qualification, an undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience in sport. A UEFA B or equivalent qualification would be an advantage.
• Ability to connect with students from a wide range of backgrounds and an understanding of the HE, BUCS and local football landscape.

The particulars:

• Salary: £28,500 – £30,000
• Contract: Full-time, permanent
• FTE: 1 (37.5 hours per week)
• Reports to: Head of Sport92
• Location: UA92, Manchester Campuses
• Working pattern: The role will require some flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend working to support activities, fixtures and events.
