Die Klinik für Zahnerhaltungskunde und Parodontologie des Departments für Zahn-, Mund- und Kieferheilkunde sucht ab Mai 2026 eine*n Naturwissenschaftliche*n Doktorand*in (m/w/d) zum Thema: Defining a minimal oral microbiome (MinOroBiome). Im Rahmen dieses von der DFG geförderten Forschungsprojektes beschäftigt sich unsere Arbeitsgruppe mit Untersuchungen zur Zusammensetzung und Funktion minimaler mikrobieller Gemeinschaften der Mundhöhle.
Im Mittelpunkt stehen dabei die Kultivierung und Isolation relevanter Bakterienarten, kombiniert mit metagenomischen, metatranskriptomischen und metabolomischen Analysen sowie bioinformatischer und statistischer Modellierung mikrobieller Interaktionen. Das Projekt erfolgt als Verbundprojekt mit der Universitätsmedizin Greifswald (Arbeitsgruppe Prof. Hertel), die die bioinformatischen Untersuchungen und Modellierungen durchführen wird.
Einblicke in Ihre Aufgaben:
- mikrobiologische Arbeiten, inklusive Kultivierung und Identifizierung von S2-Bakterien auf verschiedenen Kulturmedien
- Stammführung bakterieller Isolate
- Arbeiten mit Patient*innenproben
- Etablierung von in vitro-Biofilmmodellen
- Interdisziplinäre Zusammenarbeit mit nationalen und internationalen Partnern
- Anfertigung einer naturwissenschaftlichen Doktorarbeit
- Möglichkeit eines Auslandsaufenthalts im Rahmen des Projekts (Universität Newcastle, GB)
Sie bringen mit:
- abgeschlossenes Masterstudium in Biologie, Molekularer Medizin o. ä.
- Interesse an der mikrobiologischen Forschung und der Schnittstelle zwischen Biofilmforschung, modernen OMICS-Analysen und Bioinformatik / statistischen Modellierungen
Erforderliche Qualifikation:
- Erfahrung in der Kultivierung von Bakterien
- sicheres Arbeiten im molekularbiologischen Labor, inklusive Probenvorbereitung und DNA-Isolierung
- exzellente Englischkenntnisse
wünschenswerte Zusatzqualifikationen:
- sicherer Umgang mit Bakterien der S2-Stufe
- Grundkenntnisse in der Mikrobiomanalyse und Lernbereitschaft bioinformatorischer Methoden
- eine selbstständige und eigenverantwortliche Arbeitsweise sowie Verantwortungsbewusstsein, Zuverlässigkeit und eine hohe Lernbereitschaft
Die Stelle ist in Teilzeit (65 %) vorerst auf 2 Jahre befristet zu besetzen, mit der Option auf Verlängerung.
