What You’ll Accomplish
- Design waveforms for fast and efficient ion transport on surface ion traps
- Design waveforms for inter-module connections using UQConnect
- Contribute to ion trap designs optimised for fast ion transport
- Contribute to the development of accurate physics models and optimisation software
- Work with the hardware teams to implement ion transport methods on our devices
- Analyse experimental results and compare them against predictions

- Experience in designing waveforms for ion transport
- Strong background in modelling classical and quantum dynamics and numerical optimisation
- A proven track record of collaboration with experimental research groups and/or quantum hardware industry
Must-have Skills (in addition to the above)
- Proficient in writing scientific code e.g. using Python
- PhD in ion trap physics or similar relevant topic
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with published results in field of research.
Nice-to-have Skills
- Experience in quantum computing or quantum technologies
