What You’ll Accomplish
  • Design waveforms for fast and efficient ion transport on surface ion traps
  • Design waveforms for inter-module connections using UQConnect
  • Contribute to ion trap designs optimised for fast ion transport
  • Contribute to the development of accurate physics models and optimisation software
  • Work with the hardware teams to implement ion transport methods on our devices
  • Analyse experimental results and compare them against predictions

  • Experience in designing waveforms for ion transport
  • Strong background in modelling classical and quantum dynamics and numerical optimisation
  • A proven track record of collaboration with experimental research groups and/or quantum hardware industry

  • Proficient in writing scientific code e.g. using Python
  • PhD in ion trap physics or similar relevant topic
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with published results in field of research.
