Job Summary
To install, maintain, service, rebuild, troubleshoot, repair, and operate all industrial, commercial, and non-commercial heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation systems site wide. Support management in directing and coordinating activities of the HVAC department and employees by performing the following duties:
Major Responsibilities
- Plans and delegates work tasks. Delegates work assignments among qualified crewmembers. Communicates performance expectations in an effort to ensure proper completion of tasks. Communicates and coordinates with other departments or crafts as needed. Communicates resource needs and work plans to supervision. Provides two-way communications between work team, supervisor, and other management and HR personnel.
- Actively reinforces company safety guidelines and programs; reports non-compliance. Monitors employee’s productivity and work habits. Leads work startup and stoppage, schedules breaks. Monitors care, condition, use and storage of tools, equipment and other UO property. Maintains material inventories. Monitors compliance with wardrobe/grooming standards, driving policy, radio usage, and other UO policies.
- Ensures proper completion of documentation including providing feedback for recognition and performance improvement. Captures written behaviors using the Lead Observation Report to support managerial and supervisory documentation.
- Maintains and shares job knowledge, assists in training developing new and current employees.
- Maintain, service and repair all UO heating, air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, ventilation systems site wide.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- High school degree or GED is required
- Technical school is preferred
Experience
- 5+ years required of HVAC/R experience in industrial and commercial service, construction or maintenance or a fast paced service company dedicated to HVAC/R
- 3+ years: Preferred HVAC/R experience in theme park industry
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
- Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License
- Must have a Universal EPA Certification
- A valid Journeyman HVAC License and completion of UO Lead classes is required
