The Role

The Universal Music Group for Brands team at Universal Music Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Director, Creative Producer to lead and oversee global production execution across content, photography, live experiences, and artist-led campaigns. This one-year maternity cover role is responsible for managing the full production - from early creative development and budgeting through on-the-ground execution and final delivery - ensuring world-class creative output across every touchpoint.

In addition to being a creative production expert, you’ll be a critical thinker, exceptionally organized, and a problem solver, primarily supporting our creative and account leads. The Snr Creative Producer will liaise between the agency and suppliers, maintaining a fair process and ensuring clear, positive communication to deliver our product successfully, on time, within budget, with all licenses and permits in place, and to the highest creative standards.

The role reports to the VP, ECD Creative Director for all projects.

In this role, you will be …

PITCHING

  • Responsible for working alongside the sales/accounts and creative team to scope and ballpark creative concepts, break down ideas, build detailed production schedules, and research the best resources and production partners - delivering creative solutions to achieve the desired result.

  • Ability to contribute to creative concepts, actively participating to ensure they fit within the defined budget, and advise on local market regulations or execution approaches.

  • Assist in defining deliverables (formats, number of assets, etc) and input on overall campaign timing plan.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with our clients on all aspects of production, including milestones, deliverables, and approaches.

PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

  • TRIPLE BIDDING:

    • Develop production brief decks in partnership with creative leads to garner Director/Production treatments.

    • Shortlist vendors for the triple bid approach based on creative, artist, and client needs, and budget.

    • Manage and lead all vendor comms from end to end.

    • Review the vendor budget and negotiate to fit within the campaign budget.

    • Work with UMGB Legal and Finance team to ensure vendors are appropriately set up and paid.

  • END TO END PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT:

    • Lead all production updates on client, artist, and internal calls and emails.

    • Manage and coordinate all Creative Production calls with the Client, Artist, and UMGB team (including PPM, Reviews, etc.).

    • Shoot attendance: Manage production company + artist (if needed), facilitate feedback loops with Client + Artist, ensure all deliverables are shot, and manage shoot timings.

    • Manage all pre- and post-production timings.

    • File management of asset versions and finals in our internal system (Box).

    • Collate feedback for vendors from all stakeholders (internal, client, artists).

INTERNAL TASKS

  • You have a robust rolodex of a wide range of production talent - production agencies, directors, editors, and photographers who we can tap into for the right projects.

  • Manage and help produce any internal assets needed, including sizzles and other internal assets.

  • Directly manage a Creative Producer in NYC.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • 8+ years of experience.

  • Has experience producing across various markets, particularly the US.

  • You have sharp attention to detail, strong production management skills, and the ability to multitask on complex projects.

  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can work well under pressure, anticipating needs and adapting to various situations.

  • You have a keen interest in AI and its potential deployment in production.

  • Has experience producing a range of media (social content, Live performance, narrative campaigns, event production, tech production, etc.)

  • Has experience working with high-profile talent.

  • Passion for music.
