Based in London, Los Angeles and New York, Mercury Studios is a music first content studio established to develop, produce, globally distribute and invest in innovative, music-rooted storytelling. Editorial independent from Universal, we work with a global network of creatives and artists in the areas of premium factual Film & TV, concert capture and performance led content, shortform and audio. We are filmmakers in the world of music.
Alongside our original content, Mercury Studios represents the world’s leading catalogue of music-related content, consisting of thousands of hours of premium music-driven film and television programming. Our Distribution and Content Sales team has over 20 years of experience of licensing music-driven content to buyers worldwide, from global platforms to national broadcasters, theatrical and emerging platforms like FAST.
Bringing these areas together we are uniquely placed to produce powerful projects which are editorially sound and reach global audiences. Our projects have received Academy, BAFTA, Emmy, Grammy Awards and extensive festival wins.
The Role
To be a creative curator and digital content manager for our growing slate of catalogue and new content.
You will be hands-on in the digital distribution of our content across digital platforms. Working directly with the VP of Channel Management, you will ensure our content is curated in the most engaging ways possible for audiences.
Key Responsibilities
Be a lead digital curator, creating clips and highlights from our vast music library for exploitation across our digital channels - with a primary focus on YouTube. Generating and repurposing content from our archives for digital distribution.
Manage the schedule for all digital media uploads.
Develop and create new channel brands with the SVP of Digital Content, to grow our audience and exploit our deep music A/V catalogue.
Work with the VP of Channel Management to build and grow new channels across YouTube and beyond.
Manually edit and clip content as-needed to populate our MCN with unique short form video.
Work with the media team to organize and process our short form database.
Support the larger marketing and content teams with creative ideas around the promotion of new and catalogue content releases.
Contribute to the global digital content strategy with creative ideas for content formats and channel partnerships.
Work with the larger UMG digital team to release content across YouTube and beyond.
Work with larger content teams to support content aggregation, distribution, and creative strategies around new platforms; such as FAST and AVOD.
Monitor digital media trends, platform updates, and best practices.
Skills and Experience Required
Must Have
Previous experience as a Channel Manager
Ability to be autonomous and run paid media campaigns
Experience clipping their own material
Strong writing skills and attention to detail
Nice to Have
YouTube certified a strong asset
