The A Side UMR is the label responsible for ensuring the continued success of Universal Music Group’s world class catalogue of recordings. At UMR we work with some of the most successful, innovative, timeless, and respected artists of all time. From The Beatles to Florence + The Machine, from Sam Smith to Stormzy, right through to Metallica & the soundtracks of Disney. UMR’s vision is to use our collective passion & knowledge to help people find their new favourite song, whether it is 3 years or 3 decades old. Our purpose is to continually spark a connection and reconnection with music that matters; drawing on new content, new platforms and new moments. We give music the chance to reconnect with new and unexpected audiences through great storytelling regardless of generation and genre.

The B Side As Senior Marketing Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how some of the most iconic recordings in the world continue to connect with audiences today. Embedded within a frontline label but closely aligned with UMR, this role sits at the intersection of culture, creativity and strategy - reimagining catalogue through modern storytelling, platform-native thinking and audience-first marketing. You’ll lead the development and delivery of ambitious, insight-led campaigns that spark discovery, deepen fan relationships and unlock long-term growth for artists and estates. Acting as the glue between frontline and central catalogue teams, you’ll ensure catalogue thinking is embedded into wider artist strategies while championing its cultural and commercial value across the business. This is a role for a senior, curious and culturally fluent marketer who understands how music travels today - and how to give timeless records new relevance.

What You’ll Do

  • Campaign Strategy & Execution: Own and deliver best-in‑class marketing campaigns for priority artists, releases, anniversaries and cultural moments. Develop integrated, audience‑first strategies across digital, streaming, physical, media, partnerships and experiential channels. Identify and capitalise on cultural sparks, platform trends and viral moments, moving quickly to build impactful, scalable campaigns. Ensure catalogue activity complements and enhances active frontline artist cycles, working closely with label marketing teams.
  • Artist, Management & Estate Relations: Act as a trusted partner to artists, management teams and estates, ensuring campaigns respect legacy while feeling creatively fresh. Confidently sell in marketing strategies and creative approaches, balancing commercial opportunity with artistic integrity. Proactively seek new ways to reignite discovery through storytelling, sync, partnerships and platform‑led moments.
  • Leadership & Delivery: Lead on priority projects, driving clarity, pace and collaboration across multiple stakeholders. Manage campaign budgets responsibly, ensuring delivery on time, on brief and on budget. Bring stability, senior judgement and momentum to complex or fast‑moving situations.
  • Audience, Insights & Growth: Use data, insights and audience intelligence to shape campaign direction, identify opportunity and optimise performance. Develop lifecycle marketing approaches that move audiences from discovery to deep fandom. Track results, distil learnings and feed insights back into future planning and long‑term catalogue strategy.
  • Cross‑Functional & Global Collaboration: Work closely with creative, repertoire development, media, planning & insight, commercial and audience development teams to deliver fully integrated campaigns. Build strong relationships with international teams across all functions to unlock global collaboration and scale. Champion catalogue internally, embedding its value and opportunity across frontline labels and wider UMG teams.
