UMG is currently seeking an eager and exceptional individual to join our Network Build Team. The position will be responsible for technical ownership and delivery on infrastructure projects, focusing on larger and more complex deployments, and for infrastructure aspects of Application projects. Requires a strong technical experience in enterprise network deployment and migrations. The position is also responsible to guide and mentor junior members of the team to strengthen the overall implementation team.
Job Functions:
- Utilize technical skills to coordinate network enhancements and deployment efforts.
- Develop and implement migration plans.
- Develop designs and configurations for network and security equipment.
- Physically install network and security equipment to support designs.
- Turnover implemented work to the operational support teams including development of operational processes, documentation, and training.
- Ensure network project documentation is complete and accurate.
- Serve as a liaison between stakeholders and UMG IT.
- Review proposed solutions to ensure the delivery of a quality product or service.
- Confirm the alignment of customer expectations and implementation plans.
- Provide documentation and communication to peers and management for status, coordination, objectives, and performance.
- Work with service providers for the coordination, delivery, and testing of network circuits.
- Assess and troubleshoot, consult with vendors, and coordinate with other teams for problem resolution of build activities.
- Ensure compliance with incident, problem, and change management procedures and standards to ITIL standards by all Sourcing Provider(s).
- Attend technical project review meetings.
- Ensure project technical designs meet UMG’s operational requirements and are in compliance with UMG infrastructure and security standards.
- Develop and present training to both the implementation and operations teams.
- Mentor junior members of the implementation team.
- Work with the engineering and operations teams to facilitate knowledge transfer between teams, enhance designs based on field experience, improve operational procedures, and to develop automation to improve delivery.
- Other tasks as deemed necessary or appropriate.
Skills/Abilities Job Requirements:
- Cisco CCNP or greater in Route/Switch preferred.
- Engineering/Architect level experience in Routing & Switching and Security.
- In-depth knowledge of BGP and OSPF network protocols.
- Network security experience with IPSEC, VPN, and SSL VPN.
- Knowledge of Cisco Nexus platform including virtualization and Spine-Leaf configurations.
- Experience in implementing and maintaining large MAN networks.
- Proficiency in Wireless.
- Proficiency in advanced Firewall configuration and rule creation.
- Proficiency in SDWAN (Cisco SDWAN/Viptela preferred).
- Ability to create migration plans with minimal disruption to existing network.
- Solid written, oral, and interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
- Ability to work independently to solve implementation issues and challenges.
- Fluent in English (written and oral).
Experience:
- Experienced IT professional with 5+ years overall experience and minimum of 3 years as a Network Engineer in large scale network.
- Experience in the design and delivery of customer-facing and executive level presentations (2 years minimum).
- Experience configuring and/or administering firewalls (Palo Alto preferred) (2 years minimum).
- Experience with Cisco Data Center Technologies (2 years minimum).
- Experience interpreting and implementing Network designs in both Greenfield and Brownfield deployments.
