Our Label Operations team are responsible for managing UMR’s complete schedule of releases and artist activity, working with teams across Universal Music Group to ensure best-practice release and label processes.

The B Side: Skills & Experience. Skills And Experience:

  • Managing UMR Release Schedules, proactively monitoring changes and updating systems to reflect revised timelines.
  • Be the primary point of contact for Label Operations queries, resolving issues efficiently or escalating where required.
  • Manage the setup and delivery UMR audio and video releases, working closely with label, external consultants and supply chain teams, ensuring accurate setup and on-time deliveries.
  • Ensure all parts for digital and physical products are delivered in time to meet release deadlines.
  • Liaise with legal, licensing, copyright, metadata, production, and supply chain teams to monitor progress of release setup.
  • Manage complete product note setup and circulation to marketing teams.
  • Lead on ensuring licensing clearances are in place for all UMR releases.
  • Support Label Operations Manager with release P&L processes.
  • Own product setup for international and third-party releases.
  • Work closely with all UMR teams to enhance workflows and collaboration.
  • Be a champion for best practice for digital and delivery release setup, educating and supporting colleagues and artist teams.
  • Manage Label Operations communications, sharing updates, process changes, and key information across stakeholders.
  • Provide accurate, timely reporting for all levels of stakeholders across UMG as required.

Person Specification:

  • Solid experience in a related operational or organisational role, preferably within music.
  • Preferred demonstrable knowledge and experience of digital and/or physical music production processes.
  • Analytically minded and highly organised with the ability to keep calm under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload.
  • Adaptable and able to use initiative, with a solution-focused, proactive approach.
  • Ability to communicate and liaise with all levels and departments within the business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience in Monday.com advantageous.
  • A passion for music!
