Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Warehouse Operative (Forklift Driver) role based in Leyton.
This role supports daily warehouse operations by ensuring the safe and efficient movement of products, maintaining accurate stock records, and adhering to health and safety regulations.
This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
The role involves safely operating forklifts to load and unload goods, move stock within the warehouse, and support accurate material handling and storage.
Daily tasks include checking incoming deliveries, packing and preparing orders for dispatch, maintaining clear and organized storage areas, and following health and safety procedures at all times.
The Warehouse Operative will work closely with colleagues to ensure efficient warehouse operations, meet delivery timescales, and support excellent customer service through reliable order handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts safely to move, stack, and organize products within the warehouse.
- Assist with receiving, verifying, and organizing incoming stock, ensuring all items are correctly labeled.
- Pick and pack orders accurately for dispatch according to customer requirements.
- Participate in regular inventory counts and stock checks.
- Optimize storage space while maintaining safe and easy access to stock.
- Load and unload goods from delivery vehicles safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Identify and report any product damage, stock discrepancies, or equipment issues.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as requested by the Warehouse Manager.
Skills & Experience
- Valid forklift operator certification (Counterbalance and/or Reach).
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred.
- Solid understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a reliable, proactive work ethic.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and lifting.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
