Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community, about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services and serves children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. It also offers intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.
Position Summary
The Program Therapist performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs while enabling them to access therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health. Responsibilities include providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills. Combination of education, licensure and experience and/or student internship hours may be considered.
- Education: Masterβs Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.
- Certification: Must possess a state licensure: LPC, LPC-I, LPC-A, LMFT, LMSW or LCSW. CPR and HWC training must be completed prior to beginning work. Must be able to pass a competency exam for the area upon hire. Will be required to work flexible hours. Current TX Driver's License.
