North Star Behavioral Health Hospital is a behavioral health facility that offers programs in and around the Anchorage, Alaska area for children, teens and adults who suffer from psychiatric or substance use issues. We also offer military-specific care to first responders, service members, veterans and dependents at the Chris Kyle Patriots Hospital. Our commitment is to prioritize patient care, offering excellence, comfort, and security during their most vulnerable moments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Clinical Therapist is responsible for providing direct and indirect client care by providing psychotherapeutic services to clients and families.
  • The CT will serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team, supporting the facility's treatment program and philosophy.
  • The CT will also serve as the primary liaison between the family and outside agencies for discharge planning, abuse reporting, and continuum of care functions.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collects and analyses data regarding the patient's psychosocial history and current environment, and identifies anticipated discharge needs.
  • Ensures the psychosocial data is comprehensive, completed within a specified timeline; and reflects the medical necessity for treatment.
  • Coordinates the development and review of the Master Treatment Plan and Treatment Plan updates.
  • Provides individual therapy to patients, ensuring therapy interventions are directly related to treatment plan goals and objectives.
  • Provides group therapy sessions and effectively manages group process to maximise therapeutic benefits to patients.
  • Establishes rapport with families to effectively engage them in family treatment.
  • Ensures individual, family, and group therapy documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicates patient's progress and readiness for discharge to members of the treatment team.

PER DIEM Therapists are required to take on a minimum patient case load of 3 and will be trained for all programs, children, adolescent and adult to cover per facility need.

Schedule: Must provide schedule on the 1st of the month. Required to work 3 days per month. Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
