Diamond Grove Center is searching for a skilled and experienced Cook for our Dietary Department. This position will be full-time, hours will consist of 5:00am-2:00pm, and 11:00pm-7:30pm, and working weekends occasionally. Diamond Grove Center is an 85 bed, behavioral psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful neighborhood of Louisville, Miss. As a Cook, you will maintain standards of food preparation and services set by the Dietitian and Dietary Supervisor.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare all food for all meals for patients, staff, and special functions.
  • Utilize recipes to adjust quantities depending on census.
  • Communicate effectively with employees from different departments.
  • Respond positively and cooperatively to changing work environment.
  • Work professionally and complete all tasks and assignments in a timely manner.
  • Follow the cleaning schedule as directed by the Dietary Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned/required by this position.

Preferred qualifications include SERV Safe Food Safety Management Certification.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • A minimum of five years experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must have the physical capacity and mobility to do heavy work—standing for long periods of time.
