This is a community-based role, supporting adults across Leeds. You will be required to travel between service users.

Universal Home Support Ltd are currently recruiting Support Workers to provide high-quality, person-centred support to adults with mental health needs, learning disabilities, and physical support needs within the community. As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in promoting independence, wellbeing, and social inclusion. You will work closely with individuals to help them manage daily living, build confidence, and engage positively within their community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day practical and emotional support
  • Support with daily living tasks such as:
    • Attending appointments
    • Money management
    • Developing cooking and life skills
  • Encourage independence and skill development
  • Support individuals to engage within the community
  • Maintain accurate records and reports
  • Work flexibly across different locations and service users
  • Follow safeguarding and company procedures at all times

Important Information

  • This role is community-based (not office-based)
  • No personal care is required
  • Consistency and reliability are essential due to the needs of vulnerable individuals
  • You must be comfortable working independently

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential)
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable adults
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Patient, compassionate, and reliable approach
  • Previous experience in care/support or a background in social work, psychology, or mental health (preferred but not essential)
