Help shape a safe, confident and compliant care workforce. We’re looking for a Learning & Development Assessor to support the onboarding, assessment and ongoing competence of our care staff across the region. This role is not classroom‑based training. Instead, you’ll play a key role in assessing competence, supporting onboarding, coordinating refresher activity and maintaining compliance evidence, helping ensure our services remain safe, effective and inspection‑ready. The Role
- Carry out assessment‑led induction for new care colleagues.
- Assess competence before new starters are deployed into services.
- Identify and escalate gaps in knowledge, skills or practice.
- Deliver and coordinate refresher activity where required.
- Maintain accurate assessment and compliance records.
- Support Registered Managers with onboarding, assurance and inspections.
- Travel across sites to deliver face‑to‑face assessment activity.
- Work collaboratively with recruitment, quality and operational teams.
This role plays a vital part in safer recruitment, workforce readiness and CQC compliance.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in adult social care, with a strong understanding of safe care delivery.
- Confidence assessing competence rather than just delivering training and assessing.
- Excellent communication and record‑keeping skills.
- Comfortable working virtually and in person.
- Organised, professional and able to work independently.
- Willing and able to travel across the region.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Assessor qualification (A1 / CAVA / D32/33 or equivalent).
- Experience supporting onboarding or compliance activity.
- Level 3 (or above) qualification in Health & Social Care.
Working Pattern
- Monday to Friday - Full Time – part time considered.
- Regional role with regular travel.
- Blended delivery (virtual and face‑to‑face).
- Flexibility required to meet service needs.
