We’re recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing business looking for an exceptional Business Development Manager to play a pivotal role in driving new customer acquisition. This is not an account management role. This is a role for someone who loves the hunt.

The Opportunity

You’ll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, engaging decision-makers, understanding their needs, and converting prospects into active trading customers. Your focus doesn’t stop at securing the first order—you’ll nurture each new customer through their first four purchases, ensuring they become established before handing them over to the sales team to continue the relationship. If you enjoy seeing tangible results from your efforts and want to be recognised and rewarded for your success, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Proactively generating new business through high-volume outbound prospecting.
  • Identifying potential customers and uncovering opportunities to win their business.
  • Building trust quickly and developing strong commercial relationships.
  • Understanding customer challenges and presenting solutions that add genuine value.
  • Managing prospects through the onboarding journey and securing their first four orders.
  • Re-engaging lapsed customers and winning back lost spend.
  • Updating CRM records accurately and reporting daily activity against KPIs.
  • Managing your workload effectively to maximise selling time and productivity.

Requirements

  • Passionate about winning new business.
  • Resilient, determined and motivated by achieving targets.
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls every day.
  • A confident communicator who builds rapport quickly.
  • Commercially minded with excellent questioning and listening skills.
  • Organised, disciplined and able to manage their own pipeline effectively.
  • Positive, energetic and driven to continually improve.
  • Previous experience in business development, sales, telesales, lead generation or outbound B2B sales would be highly advantageous.

Success in This Role

You’ll thrive if you’re excited by ambitious goals and enjoy seeing your efforts translate into measurable results.

Key performance expectations include:

  • Quality outbound calls per week.
  • Building a pipeline worth £100,000+ in potential customer spend.
  • Converting opportunities into active trading customers in line with agreed targets.

Benefits

  • £40,000 basic salary
  • Performance bonus (circa £5,000 per year)
  • Company laptop and mobile phone
  • Complimentary lunch provided each day
  • Free on-site parking
  • Electric vehicle charging facilities
  • Full-time, permanent position Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm (with flexibility of up to 30 minutes on start/finish times)

If you’re motivated by winning new business, enjoy being on the phone, and want to join a business where your performance is recognised and rewarded, we’d love to hear from you. All applications will be treated in the strictest confidence.
